GUEST SHOWS

ALLEO / COLECTIVO GLOVO

ESTHER LATORRE AND HUGO PEREIRA

SPAIN - PORTUGAL

“Alleo (alien) is based on the idea of the watchtower. It starts from the conditioning of the "privileged" position of the tower and who played the role of watchman. We inhabit both bodies: the power granted by the knowledge of the unknown and what was to come as well as the loneliness of that position and the weight of the discovery of the alien."

Choreographers and dancers: Esther Latorre and Hugo Pereira.

Music: All Gone Reunion Gustavo Santaolalla, Alef – Mercan Dede Maat – Sona Jobarteh.

With the support of: Galicia Danza Contemporánea, Concello Lugo, INAEM, Acción Cultural Española (AC/E).

COWARDS / ANGEL DURÁN AND YEINNER CHICAS

SPAIN - NICARAGUA

“COWARDS, is a piece of dance and physical theater. It refers to the sociocultural load acquired to hide the true identity behind pre-established behaviors. This proposal exposes the dialectic, generally toxic and the captivity of contemporary behavior. By presenting two characters, apparently defined in aesthetics but not in content, COWARDS wants to provoke and incite the viewer.”

Artistic director and performer: Angel Durán.

Performers: Yeinner Chicas and Ángel Durán.

Music omposition and production: Joan Borrás.

Costume: Paula Ventura.

With the support of: INAEM, Acción Cultural Española (AC/E).

EL BRAZO DEL PÉNDULO / CORPÓREOS DE QUEPOS

COSTA RICA

"No one can doubt that things relapse, but how will we realize that we have relapsed if in the morning we are so well, so coffee with milk. Let's do one thing: you relapse, rehabilitate yourself and I watch you"

Dancers: Crislie Villegas, Rolbin Retana, Eddy López and Carlos Ovares.

Choreographer: Carlos Ovares.

Music: Goëtia and Faun Unda.

Texts: Julio Cortázar.

SOLO SOMOS / JULIA NICOLAU

SPAIN

“Solo Somos'' is in a certain sense a way of sustaining oneself in movement, articulation and pause in order to understand what old age means. The movement understood as a desire to rebel and not to perish, not to grow old. The joint as something that crumbles and wobbles when old age enters through our pores and expels youth in each snap. The pause as the wait that leads us to boredom, to what stagnates and redounds. An analogy between the young body and the body worn down by old age, an awareness through musical composition, choreography and words.”

Choreographer and performer: Julia Nicolau.

Project financed with Injuve Creation Grants.

THE RISK PARTY / SWEET CHILLI CIRCUS COMPANY

SPAIN - FRANCE

“To abstract from the division that exists between the body and the ground, between danger and dance in the air, to become absorbed in a perpetual turn of a trapeze, to become engrossed in the infinity and vastness of a body fighting, flying, dancing, tensing and relaxing. about the height, about his elect who is one, about the other who trusts. me on you, you on me”.

Choreographers and performers: Teresa Magallón and Milki Lee.

CRÉSSIDA DANZA CONTEMPORÁNEA / MÉXICO

“Work with an atypical format, a network of stories, realities that the dancers have experienced in the search to generate empathy with the public that sees them, create an emotional bond and remember common stories, with references to the immediate environment and, of course, the character of the Mexican of the present. The work seeks to address personal issues that cross borders”.

Direction of Cressida Danza Contemporánea: Lourdes Luna

Concept, creation and direction: Roberto Oliván.

Performers: Tomás Reyes, Alhlen Guillermo, Rudit Martínez, Guadalupe Robles and Sofía Rivero.

Music edition and production: Manuel Estrella.

Photographt: Lisa Torres

BAILE DE MÁSCARAS / TEATRO UNA, ESCUELA DE ARTE ESCÉNICO

COSTA RICA

Thirteen stage performers give life to 13 characters with masks, who live together in a post-apocalyptic context as a nomadic tribe dedicated to going from place to place in their quest to survive in a world that was destroyed by the excesses of the same being. human. In this constant journey, they try to conquer any space, any territory and lay the foundations for a new community of survivors. However, in these attempts at coexistence they experience a series of conflicts that lead them back to confrontations with each other, that is, to repeat the pattern that led the world to catharsis. This time, will they be able to survive? Will they be able to seek relationships that allow them to build themselves again as a balanced, supportive society?...

Paulina Bernini, a fourth-level student at the School of Performing Arts who is part of the broad cast: “This nomadic herd leaves a mark on its journey. It narrates past stories in a present time within a future, post-apocalyptic context, where whoever is watching will be immersed in this fictional world, regardless of age, location or culture…”

Choreographer/director: Reinaldo Amién and Mario Blanco Lobo.

Performers: Marjorie María Arce, Paulina Bernini, Daniel Calvo, Brenda Angélica Carrillo, Felipe Garzón, María de Los Ángeles Guzmán, Jorge Mario Retana, Darian Leonardo Ruiz, Natalia Sandí, Silvia Daniela Peña, Andrés Peñaranda, Bryam Josué Guzmán, Valentín Alpízar, Roy Alberto Rodríguez.

DANCE IN COMMUNITY / CONTACT IMPROVISATION

We will start with a brief theoretical explanation about the center of gravity: The center in Contact Improvisation. Once the theory is understood, we move on to the practice of the movement originating in our center. We will work on the center-ground-body-gravity relationship. We explore how to push our body off the ground so we can reach vertical. We seek to feel the weight of gravity and how to re-merge with the surface of the ground. We evolve this feeling of movement originating from the center but with a partner. And we will continue the rest of the session with different games that help us get closer to having more confidence in our body and our environment.

10.30 - 11.50 am / ÁNGEL DURÁN

FULL MOVEMENT

We will explore movement within full body engagement. We will work with coordination, association and improvisation tasks to guide our system to higher levels of consciousness and awaken new possibilities of movement and expression with the knowledge of simple tools. The game is an important constant to use creativity and find new patterns. In this way we will generate our own new languages. This work involves active practice and we will use different tools and principles such as high speed and dissociations. We use bodywork not only to improve our mechanical possibilities, but to understand what our own patterns are and how we can break them to find new ones. We will seek constant feedback throughout and within the practice with the group. It is about connecting with the here and now and with a full presence. For this we will also become aware of our emotional state and we will be guided by theatrical patterns to explore the intention behind the movement.

1- 2.15 pm / MILKI LEE - SWEET CHILLI CIRCUS COMPANY

At the same time, personal creativity is encouraged, leaving the technique to play with body mobility and expression. For this, improvisation dance exercises applied to the aerial element will be used. Suspensions, dynamics, balances will be worked on...

2.15 - 3.20 pm ESTHER LATORRE / COLECTIVO GLOVO

THE INHABITED BODY / CREATION AND CONTEMPORARY TRAINING

How do we understand the body? What sensory and expressive tools do we have? How do we live? The workshop will be raised under these premises, they will be sessions in which we invite attendees to immerse themselves in the genuine bodily and energetic possibilities of each one in order to expand the range of knowledge of ourselves. We will start from the feeling of each one, with improvisation exercises and physical training, thus understanding the possibilities of the body's scope, in order to later be transferred to the scene.
